Nutty Porridge with Blackberries

Blackberries are usually fantastic in September – sweet, plump and juicy and growing wild almost everywhere. We’re using them to add a sweet autumn twist to a breakfast classic.


  • 30g porridge oats
  • 120ml skimmed milk
  • 40g blackberries
  • 10g almond nut butter
  • 10g crushed hazelnuts


  1. Mix the oats with the milk and microwave for half the time on the packet instructions.
  2. Stir in the blackberries, almond nut butter and hazelnuts, and microwave for the remainder of the indicated time.
  3. Smart tip: Try with crushed pecans or walnuts, or flaked almonds. This also tastes great with late-season raspberries.
