Young mum loses 3st with The Fast Philosophy
One of Sarah Butcher’s proudest moments in life is giving birth to a healthy baby girl in December 2017. Despite enjoying almost everything motherhood bought, Sarah was struggling with her post-baby body image. After suffering with severe morning sickness throughout her pregnancy, Sarah ate whatever she fancied, whenever she could, and this left her feeling uncomfortable in her own skin.
“I had been growing a little human inside me, so during pregnancy, despite the sickness, I couldn’t have been happier. It was only after that I realised I had gained some excess weight and this impacted my self-esteem a lot, to the point I haven’t got many pictures of myself with my new-born baby as I felt big.”
After breastfeeding, Sarah decided that it was time to get herself back on track and to a size she felt comfortable with. Her best friend’s wedding was only six months away and being maid of honour gave her the extra motivation she needed to shift the baby weight.
“Everyone told me that I’d lose weight when breastfeeding but this just wasn’t the case. Pre and post baby, chocolate was my main vice when it came to food. The more you told me I couldn’t have it, the more I wanted it. It was convenient to eat, cheap to buy and it gave me the sugar boosts I needed to keep going throughout the day. I knew this needed to change because I was relying on sweet treats to keep me going. Having a baby meant that I couldn’t feel tired or hungry at all times because it would’ve impacted on my mood and behaviours, so I knew I needed a diet which would fit in with my life.”
Sarah decided to follow the The Fast Philosophy consuming four LighterLife Fast products on her Fast days which provided her with approximately 800 calories and saw her lose up to 2lbs per week. On the other four Smart days, she followed the “Fast Philosophy” of healthy, balanced diet, consuming two 300kcal meals, two 100kcals snacks plus a meal of her choice.
“The plan is perfect for new mums. There are times when you’re so busy rushing around that you don’t have time to prep yourself food or sit down to eat. I follow three Fast days and four Smart days per week, and I don’t have to think about what or how much I’m eating as it’s all planned out for me. Most of the products are ready to drink or only need hot or cold water and I plan the four products I’m going to have in advance. If I’ve got something planned, or things change last minute, I can just swap my days around. It’s so easy.”
