- 300g lean pork, cubed
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
- 200ml passata
- 50ml dark soy sauce
- 200ml hot beef stock
- 1 whole star anise
- 200g chestnut mushrooms, quartered
- 100g green cabbage, sliced
- Put all the ingredients into a slow cooker.
- Stir well and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
- Smart tip: You could also try this with beef or lamb – go for the leanest cuts you can find.
